Box build & integration
Bring the board, enclosure and connections together. Plan the complete product assembly around the way your device needs to work.

Project scope
Built around your requirements.
These are areas to discuss in your brief. Final scope, feasibility and timing depend on your specific design and requirements.
- PCBA and enclosure integration
- Cables, connectors and wiring harnesses
- Product assembly planning
- Functional testing and packaging requirements

What to share.

- 02PCBA details and component list
- 03Wiring diagrams and assembly instructions
- 04Acceptance criteria and packaging requirements
A clear handoff
Agree the outcome.
Define the complete assembly, configuration, test and packaging scope so the finished product has a clear acceptance checklist.
How is box build different from PCB assembly?
PCB assembly populates a circuit board. Box build brings that board together with the enclosure, cables, connectors and mechanical parts to create an integrated product. Firmware loading and testing should be specified separately.
Process / Integration
From requirements to an agreed handoff.
Map the complete assembly
List the PCBA, enclosure, mechanical parts, cables and connectors, with their revisions and supply responsibilities.
Resolve integration details
Define wiring, connector mapping, mounting, access and the assembly sequence. Identify configuration or firmware-loading requirements separately.
Agree product handoff
Set functional acceptance criteria, configuration records and packaging requirements for the integrated product.
Deliverables to agree
Define what changes hands.
- An agreed product assembly and wiring scope
- Configuration and functional acceptance requirements
- Packaging and handoff documentation requirements
Quality review
Make acceptance specific.
Set the review method and evidence required for these project-specific checks.
- Board and enclosure fit, mounting and connector access
- Wiring diagrams, connector mapping and assembly instructions
- Finished-product functional and packaging criteria
Scope boundaries
Firmware loading, test fixtures, regulatory testing and packaging are separate scope decisions. Integrating a product does not establish safety or regulatory compliance.
Common questions
Before you enquire.
What if the enclosure is not final?
Share the available drawings and identify open mechanical decisions. Mounting, connector openings and assembly access should be resolved before committing to product assembly.
What defines a finished product?
Agree the assembly configuration, functional criteria, required records and packaging. These details distinguish an integrated assembly from an accepted, ready-to-handoff product.
